Google Pagerank
Google's Pagerank is a numeric value (0 to 10) that decides your website's importance on the web. The more the Pagerank, the more is your website's importance on the web. You will get better pagerank if more number of sites links to your site. But Quality links will boost your Pagerank. Quality links means links from sites similar to your site. If your site is software related then links from other software related sites to your site are quality links. So quality links from similar sites will boost your Google's pagerank.

If your site is rich in content then automatically more websites link to your site. Also you can exchange your link with other sites. In Link Exchange if you link to a site, then that site will place a link to your site in their site. Generally sites (exclude new sites) with Pagerank zero are penalized sites by Google. So Don't link to a penalized site.
